Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, GCC Leaders and Heads of Delegations, US President Conclude GCC-US Summit

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the leaders and heads of delegations of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States and President Barack Obama of the United States of America concluded here today at Al-Diriyah Palace the summit of the GCC leaders and the US president.

In his own name and on behalf of the GCC leaders, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques expressed thanks to the US president for attending this summit.
„In my own name and on behalf of the GCC leaders, I thank your Excellency to attend this constructive and fruitful summit which will contribute in enhancing consultation and cooperation among the GCC states and the United States,” King Salman said, lauding the constructive discussions and what have been reached.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques stressed keenness and commitment of the GCC states on developing historical and strategic relations among the GCC countries and the United States in order to serve common interests and security and peace in the region and the world.
„I wish you all happiness and health as well as security, stability and prosperity for our countries,” Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques added.
For his part, the US President Barack Obama delivered a speech in which he expressed thanks to and appreciation of this successful summit.
„Last year while in Camp David, we have built an all-out bilateral strong relation and a common vision for peace and prosperity”, he said, confirming, at the same, doing more than that.

He said that during today’s summit, the progress achieved was reviewed, noting that his country protects its interests in the GCC region as well as its allies against any attack, especially in sensitive areas.
„We will remain united in the fight to wipe out Daesh terrorist organization and will mobilize our air forces and special forces through the alliance which we have established,” Obama said.

He stressed keenness of everybody in Iraq’s stability through liberalization of the areas controlled by Al-Qaeda.
The US president stressed that he agreed with the GCC leaders to continue solving the struggles in the region as well as finding a solution with the Syrian regime according to the arrangement that would be reached with the GCC partners.
As for Yemen, the US president confirmed that his aim in Yemen is to deliver in the best way possible humanitarian assistance there.
Regarding Libya, President Obama said that he agreed with the GCC leaders to provide support and rehabilitation for Libya.
The US president stressed that the United States will increase its cooperation with the GCC states, stressing that the GCC countries have the ability to defend themselves.

With respect to Iran’s affairs, President Barack Obama said: „Now, we have cut all ways before Iran in its pursuit to obtain nuclear weapons even in this nuclear agreement. We still have some conservative doubts toward Iranian behavior, particularly with regard to intercontinental projectiles. According to what we reached at the Camp David summit last year and (the developments) until now, there is no state having an interest to enter into a dispute or conflict with Iran.”
He drew the attention to that everyone must abide by international norms and laws as well as governance and respect for human rights.
The US President disclosed that his country would hold with the GCC states a new economic dialogue to create job opportunities for the youths and citizens.
„If we recall what has happened since last year, we find that we have made a lot of progress and because of the efforts we have exerted, our countries became more safer and prosperous,” Obama said, stressing the depth of friendship between the United States of America and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and what is being implemented at this table.

He expressed thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the GCC leaders and heads of delegations for this successful Summit.
Then, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud bade farewell to the US President Barack Obama and the GCC leaders and heads of delegations.

The official delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the summit included Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Interior Minister; Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Defense Minister; Prince Abdullah bin Faisal bin Turki, Saudi Ambassador to the United States of America; Minister of State and Cabinet Member Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban; Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir; President of the General Intelligence, Khalid bin Ali Al-Humaidan and Director General of the General Investigation Directorate, Gen. Abdulaziz Al-Hoireny.
